Build your own Arcade Game Site and make Money! Part II
Here is the second part of our series Build your own Arcade Game Site and make Money!
This time we look at some more details of MyArcadeBlog and WPArcade, which offers a number of nice WordPress powered Arcade Game themes. There are currently seven Arcade game site designs available, and this is what it mainly differentiates WPArcade from competitors like MyArcadeBlog.
Remember, you have to keep publishing new games to retain the love of Search Engines. Whereas MyArcadeBlog Pro adds games automatically based on a predefined trigger WPArcade lets you schedule publishing new games which you get for free from Mochi.
www.flashvideogames.info has been built using the NextWPA theme from WPAracde. NextWPA ships with a useful setup guide, so it is really easy to install your new Arcade site. NextWPA has a price tag of 29$, and you can also use it on an unlimited number of sites like MyArcadeBlog Pro (*).
However, should you be new to WordPress you may be better off with MyArcadeBlog, which is not only cheaper and a bit more powerful, but also has second to none support from the owner Daniel. WPArcade on the other hand is the right choice for a rich variety of predefined themes, each for 29$.
Both Arcade game site WordPress themes are equally Search Engine optimized, yet WPArcade’s preloaded game list is expandable in contrast to FunGames, the default theme of MyArcadeBlog which needs a bit of tweaking so that the game list isn’t either too long or to short.
(*) At the time of this writing, please check vendor sites as terms may change.
Tip:
Monetizing your new Arcade site with downloaded Mochi games isn’t worth the occupied disk space as earnings are totally ridiculous. Rather, we recommend do not download the Mochi games. For the user experience it doesn’t matter as games appear local to your site.
This way the required disk space is minimal and you don’t pay a cent for gaming bandwidth. Let Mochi pay that. You can still earn well using Adsense and affiliate programs for example.
Stay tuned for the last part of this series which is about Emanuele Feronato’s Triqui – a soon as Triqui is compatible with the latest WordPress editions.
