Cool job board script for free
Job board sites are very popular these days, as they can be very useful for people unemployed in the current economic crisis. I have seen a lot of php scripts that allow you to build your own job board site, some of them even paid, but none of these seems to be as cool as the one I want you to know today.
This is a free open source job board script, with a cool “web 2.0″ style, that you are surely going to love if you are trying to start your own employment site (even if not).
Jobber (or jobberBase) is a php software that lets you start your own job board in a very easy and nice way. Some of its interesting features:
- it has a powerful search engine that will let your users find the right job for them in seconds;
- it lets you classify the different jobs positions (eg: developer, designer, tester, etc);
- your visitors can easily post a new ad job without having an account;
- rss syndication (I think most of the script don´t have this one);
- locations management
These are just some of its more important functionalities.
Job board style
You can see the default style in one of its demos: www.jobber.ro . It is very web 2.0, and very useful. The categories are shown in a tab based navigation at the top of the job positions list. Also the search bar is displayed as the most important section your visitor will see, so this could be his/her initial step in his/her job search. By the way you have more than one theme to download in their site.
A script with wiki and forum!
Yes, to my surprise, the script has its own wiki and forum.
The wiki is very basic but it fully covers what is intended for, it has the documentation, known bugs, the themes you can download and a roadmap of upcoming versions of the script. My work colleague told it is maybe too simple but personally I think it is exactly what you need, sometimes too much information could be overwhelming.
About the forum, I´m not a member there, but I have been lurking and it seems a pretty active forum having in mind it is for just ONE script.
